Color Themes on your eStarling

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

In this post, I want to share a fun idea that you can try on your eStarling frame. Do you have a favorite color? I like the color blue. With the eStarling, I can subscribe to Flickr’s “Top 20 Blue” photo group, and have really cool blue-themed photos regularly sent to the frame. It’s a great way to tap into all of the work of the creative photographers on the Flickr network–and it’s totally free!

Wouldn’t it be great if you had a “blue room” in your house? You could really match the frame to the overall theme with this great Flickr photo feed–and an eStarling digital frame, of course. Flickr’s got a wide variety of photo groups, so head on over and see which ones match your color schemes, hobbies, interests, etc.

How do you use your eStarling frame?

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

In this post, I want to ask owners of the eStarling digital frame which features are the most useful. Are you linking up your eStarling frame to photo storage sites like Picasa and Flickr? Or are are you finding it just as easy to email your photos to your frame’s email address? How is the user experience? Is there anything you find particularly frustrating about using the eStarling? What do you love about the eStarling?

Letting us know about your experience with the eStarling digital frame will allow us to enhance the experience. We would greatly appreciate any comments or questions! Just post them right here in the comments.

Why the eStarling is the best digital frame on the market

What kinds of digital frames are out there?

Let’s be honest, there are a lot of digital photo frames out there. In recent years, consumer craze about digital frames has only gotten bigger and bigger. What sets the eStarling apart from all the others?

Let’s look at 4 other popular photo frames: Pandigital’s Photo Mail Digital Photo Frame, the Kodak Easy Share, Phillips8″ LCD photo frame, and Portable USA‘s digital frame.

Phillips and Portable make some nice frames, but the Phillips frame requires it’s own software installation–who wants to wrestle with their PC just to set up their digital frame? Portable makes a nice wireless frame, but with a $300 pricetag, it’s a little steep.

Pandigital packs a lot of nice features, but at only 8 inches, the screen size is a little small. Kodak still has no wireless support, your stuck with camera cards and USB sticks.

So, the eStarling TouchConnect digital frame really does it all: a dazzling display, easy connectivity, and a simple setup. Don’t be confused by the number of selections on the market–with the eStarling TouchConnect, you won’t be disappointed!

Stay connected with the eStarling photo frame

The other day, in my post about different uses for the eStarling digital frame, it occurred to me that this would be a fantastic device to have for anyone in a long distance relationship. It is so important to send your loved ones little reminders of how special they are. With the eStarling frame, you can easily send photos and videos as subtle reminders to your significant other.

Just snap ordinary pictures of what you do during the day, or take pictures of important events that you can’t be together for–no matter what, your loved one will surely appreciate the sense of connectedness that the eStarling frame brings.

Using the eStarling to strengthen communities

The eStarling is a great product for the household–but there are so many other great places for this amazing connected picture frame.

If you had a small coffee shop with regular customers, you could share the frame’s address and invite patrons to send pictures and video clips. This would be a great way to engage your customers and build a community around your store.  You could also put up ads, specials and announcement on your frame–just email them as images straight to the frame.

With so many people carrying smartphones, and wireless networks in more and more place, using your eStarling frame as a community building device is easy. Do you have any suggestions on other ways people could use their eStarling frame? Let’s here your suggestions!

eStarling TouchConnect: A social media frame

eStarling has brought an amazing social dimension to the traditional digital picture frame. You are no longer simply popping in a camera card and watching slide shows of your latest camera shoots—the eStarling is a social media frame.

The eStarling TouchConnect does a lot more than sharing photos and videos. With the eStarling TouchConnect, you can link your favorite social networking and photo storage sites to your frame to share content and connect with others. If you use Flickr, Picasa, or Facebook to store your photos online, just use the touchscreen to submit your account information and your photos will automatically be downloaded from these services.

In addition, this digital frame also lets you send and view Tweets from your Twitter account. You can also access your Gmail calender from the frame, all through the simple touchscreen interface.
